Yes. We can order doors in any width to the nearest inch, as wide as 20', and in height in 3" increments.

What is R value, and why is it important?
R value refers to the insulation value. The higher the R value, the better the insulator.

If my garage is not insulated, why do I need an insulated door?
The doors are injected with foam which gives the door increased stength and durability. It is much more dent resistant than a non-insulated door. The overall quality of an insulated door is far superior to that of a non-insulated. Included with the foam injected polyeurethane is a steel reinforcing plate which runs horizontally accross the section, near the top and bottom of every section.

What colours do your doors come in?
Taupe, almond, white, grey, and brown.

Can I paint my steel garage door?
Richards-Wilcox doors have a baked on paint finish that stands up to time and the extreme elements of the weather. It is much like a car's finish, so it is unlikely to fade. But yes, you can paint it. Richards-Wilcox discourages from painting in black because it attracts and absorbs more heat than any other. We recommend using a high quality exterior latex paint.

When I replace my garage door, do I need to replace the tracks and hardware as well?
Absolutely. You wouldn't want to buy a new door and have it operating with used parts. The manufacturer would not honour the warranty if you had a warranty issue related to not changing some of the hardware. When a door company doesn't change your tracks, they also don't change your end bearings, drums or shaft. Chances are these parts will need replacing sometime soon and what you save by not changing the tracks will be less than the cost of a service call to repair any worn parts. Most shafts are very rusty and worn and we only use galvanized shafts as replacements. Almost all tracks are of builders quality which are not adjustable therefore, they will only accomodate 1 thickness of door, that being 1 3/8". Richards-Wilcox's tracks far exceeds the builders quality. Anyone who doesn't want to change your tracks is not looking after your best interest. Would you buy a new car with a used drive train or used tires?
